Look At All Those Pretty Green Numbers (KenPom.com)

Particularly in the defensive column. (Don't even THINK about trying to make a free throw against this team, beech!)

On another note, State's 309th in tempo. Northwestern is 326th. Tomorrow's night game will make the Herb Sendek years look like the UNLV Runnin' Rebs of the 90s.

  1. the defensive FG% is encouraging. i think the effort the team is putting in is paying off.

  2. i watched the sunday game via pack pass. looked a lot like the games i watched agains austin peay and auburn. state got a good lead, seemed to loose interest, then turned it on to win. except this time the team really turned it on blowing away new orleans in a few minutes. three things come to mind. during the second half coach lowe called a time out, took the team to half court, then really lit into them. i don't recall coach lowe having done that before.
second, during the second half run, josh davis played instead of scott wood. josh davis is a high intensity player who really can get offensive rebounds. scott wood dosen't have his shooting touch. wood not having his shooting touch dosen't surprise me as i felt that once he got to state he wouldn't shoot well-at least at first. right now i would conclude that it is becasue he lifted weights too much. i don't recall wood playing very much the second half.
